 Beth Jones

Beth Jones has been a member of the WTCMUD-1 board for six years and currently serves as board president. She is a 27-year resident of the district and a proud mother to two adult sons who attended and graduated from the neighborhood Leander ISD schools.

Beth earned her college degree in Child and Family Relations and has dedicated her adult life to working with children and the elderly. In her current job, she has helped raise over $1 million in education scholarship funds for low-income and first-generation Central Texas students, while finding additional time to serve residents at a senior living facility.

Beth continually seeks ways to contribute to her community. She established a new church program for mothers of young children and has volunteered with several local organizations, including Eagle Scouts and the award-winning CPHS Marching Band program. Her caregiving skills have spilled over into the community and enriched many lives. She loves hearing people’s stories, meeting new and old residents, and helping community members feel positively about the neighborhood where they live.

Her goal as a board member has always been to preserve our community as a safe, beautiful place for all residents to thrive, families to grow, children to play, and older adults and seniors to stay and live for as long as they wish to remain here.

Below are the key priorities for Beth's re-election campaign as well as duties and accomplishments during her time on the board.

Priorities:

  1. Responsible stewardship of our water and sewer infrastructure, providing timely maintenance and renewal. Learn more about the 2026 Bond at the district's website, https://wtcmud1.org/.

  2. Ensuring the long-term financial health by sustaining quality of life, preserving property values and allowing us to keep property tax rates low.

  3. Maintenance and improvement of vital community assets, including sidewalks, walking paths, and parks.

  4. Expanding community engagement by partnering with residents, improving relationships with our neighborhood schools, and supporting community gathering and events, all of which are critical to the health and vitality of our community.

  5. Providing high-quality safety and sanitation services, including fire, police, and waste management.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Co-led the Park Planning Committee, comprised of resident volunteers, that helped develop the District’s approved 5-Year Park Plan.

  • Through careful financial management, WTCMUD-1 was recently able to achieve an Aa2 bond rating - a rare accomplishment for a MUD in Texas. Consequently, the district was able to secure a low interest rate of 4.41% for the remaining bonds approved in August 2026.

  • Actively and successfully served on numerous standing committees, including:

    • Billing and Invoice Committee

    • Budget Committee

    • Parks Committee

    • Deed Restriction Enforcement Committee

    • Information Management Committee, and

    • Security Committee

ENDORSEMENTS

To all my former neighbors and Friends in WTC MUD 1:

I am pleased to heartily endorse Beth Jones’s candidacy for re-election to the MUD Board of Directors.

Over the many years that I lived in the MUD and served on the Board of Directors, I found her to be dedicated to, and effective in, serving the Anderson Mill West Neighborhood Association and the MUD. Board members receive minimal pay, which is set by law, so the role of MUD Director requires serious dedication. Beth led efforts to clean up and upgrade the parks. In addition, she helped manage and maintain the vital water, wastewater and storm drainage infrastructure. She accomplished these things to help keep property values high and taxes low.

I resigned from the Board after many years of service when, following the death of my dear wife Beverly, I decided to return to the New Orleans area where most of my children and grandchildren live. I proposed to the Board that Beth Jones fill my remaining term of office because I knew that she was experienced in MUD issues, strong, dedicated and smart. The Board accepted my recommendation, and Beth has served admirably since. She has accomplished a great deal while also raising two fine young men.

I urge her re-election to the Board.
