Hanoi Avila
Hanoi Avila has lived in the WTCMUD-1 district for 12 years with his wife and three children. He currently serves as vice-president and treasurer for the board. His steady leadership and expertise in finance, project management, and infrastructure have helped establish our district as one the most financially healthy utility districts in Texas.
Avila is passionate about good governance, which drives his deep commitment to public service. His previous position as CEO of a multimillion-dollar construction company in Austin, Texas, has given him essential skills and knowledge needed to guide our district’s operations and infrastructure activities. Additionally, Avila has served as a board member for various national and international non-profits. After working in the private sector for several years, he now serves as the Chief Ministry Officer for a religious non-profit corporation.
Avila holds an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on community development.
Below are the key priorities of Avila's campaign and the recent accomplishments he has worked with the WTCMUD-1 community to achieve.
Priorities:
- Maintaining high property values while lowering taxes.
- Proactively managing upkeep of our infrastructure and parks.
- Ensuring safety for our children and families.
Key Accomplishments:
- Completed enhanced park safety repairs to ensure all standard and compliance requirements were met.
- Consistently voted to maintain low property taxes.
- Preserved the financial health of the district and collaborated with contractors to upgrade our aging district infrastructure without increasing taxes.
- Held local government officials and perpetrators accountable.
